WANA (May 11) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with his Omani counterpart Badr Al-Busaidi on Sunday, shortly after arriving in Muscat for the 4th round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.

 

The meeting, held ahead of the latest round of talks, focused on bilateral coordination and Iran’s key positions regarding the ongoing negotiations.

 

Iran’s Foreign Minister, who is leading the Iranian delegation for the fourth round of these indirect discussions in Oman, expressed gratitude to the Omani government for its continued role as a facilitator and host.

 

During the talks, Araghchi outlined Iran’s fundamental views and policy principles concerning the dialogue with the United States.

 

In turn, Omani Foreign Minister Al-Busaidi reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to supporting the diplomatic process and briefed the Iranian side on the logistical and organizational arrangements for the upcoming round of negotiations.

 

Araghchi has met with Oman’s foreign minister ahead of each of the previous three rounds of indirect Iran-U.S. talks, underscoring Muscat’s consistent mediating role in the diplomatic efforts.

 

The first round of these indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S., mediated by Oman, was held on April 12 in Muscat, and the second round of talks took place in Rome on Saturday, April 19, again with Oman as the intermediary. The third round of talks, which took place on Saturday, April 26, was also in Oman.
